Running, Interviewing, Walking a dog named Duke

Tuesday I got my first call: Primary Children's Hospital Float Pool New Grad Program

Wednesday I got my second call: University of Utah Neonatal ICU

Thursday I got my third call: Primary Children's Hospital Neuroscience/Trauma New Grad Program

I am totally blown away that I now have THREE interviews scheduled! I made the interviews for over spring break, they offered phone interviews but I would like to meet them and tour the facilities in person. So with a very large swipe of the credit card I now am scheduled for flight, hotel, and rental car March 9-13th!!! How freaking crazy is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Exclamation points portray the level of anxiety)

Two hours and ten minutes of running on snow and ice was just what I needed! I finished the Snow Joke Half Marathon with a new PR which was surprising due to the road conditions. I ran with "spikes" called "Get a Grip Ultra" which now that I have Googled for an image of them I see that I in fact wore them BACKWARDS for the entire race. Oh well, at least I didn't fall. The snow made the footing pretty interesting and made for some tight calves and hip flexors!

Dogs are supposed to decrease anxiety and stress levels right? Oh good. I am dog-sitting this week for my classmate Chris and I am just so very excited!!! The doggie is a black lab/malamute mix named Duke. I am going to be the best dog sitter in the world. Lots of walks planned. It will be my first experience with many dog related tasks: Picking up dog poop, morning dog walks, etc. It will be great. The picture of the dog is not Duke but is a Malamute/lab mix just to give you an idea.

Oh... the sweet doggie! It has been fun to live vicariously as a dog owner through you as you live vicariously as a dog owner in your adventures with Duke. I think it is preparing us both for the joys and practicalities of dog ownership.

I also laughed outloud that you wore the grips backwards - that is excellent! Congrats on your race time - you are a mighty athlete!

Woo-hoo for excellence in preparing for the job search - it obviously paid off! You're going to be a real nurse very very soon! And I am going to be a real psychologist very very soon - scary!
