Here I am bloggishly deluding myself that Las Vegas is two hours from ABQ (even with the freaking map directly in front of me) and nobody says, Hey Kate, P.S. It is actually more like EIGHT hours!!!
I totally almost bought a plane ticket from Missoula to Las Vegas for 160 bucks thinking, "wow what a savings, it will only be a short drive and I will save lots of money!!" Thank goodness Rae (the older and much wiser and freaking ALWAYS smarter than Kate) happens to mention it to me as I punch in my credit card number!!!
I do recognize this was a hilarious error now...I just had to post something because now my stupidity is forever documented in my previous posting. I suppose I could edit it out but that is like cheating.

Well, in all fairness, Miss Maudie, there IS a Las Vegas two hours from ALB. It's Las Vegas, NM, right on the New Mexico-Colorado border. I think that it's maybe not as exciting as THE Las Vegas, but there is one exit off of I-25. But there may not even be a gas station there...
Anyway, I'm still super excited for you and ALB!!! :)
Maybe you should swing by Chicago on the way, it's about twenty minutes from Vegas.
What's funny is that your previous post, "ABQ Here I come!!" has a map right on it that shows both Las Vegas and Albuquerque. For reference, Santa Fe is about an hour from Albuquerque (45 min.?).
Look at the bright side, you are only about 3 hours from El Paso.
