I am looking at both golden retrievers, labs, and mixes of the two. There are lots of animal rescues in the area which is probably the route I will go with because the breeders are mostly out of state. Its so fun to websurf for doggie related information...local dog walkers, doggie daycare, dog parks, dog friendly restaurants. I am so excited!
Other news from New Mexico:
Yesterday I made a second attempt at annihilating the cockaroacha population. The exterminator visited and I encouraged her to spray the shit out of my house and yard. She was very friendly and taught me a few things:
Cardboard, due to its processed paper content, is like candy for cockroaches. (So I am now throwing away all of my moving boxes, which sucks but better than having creepy crawlys)
Plants growing very close to the house are like highways for bugs. Apparently, the bugs follow the root system of plants (path of least resistance). If the roots are close to your house they are more likely to get into your walls/foundation and NEST. YUCKKKKK!
My first three shifts of being a nurse on the newborn intermediate care nursery unit went very well. By the 3rd shift I was caring for 2 infants pretty independently! Amazing experience. I gave two babies their first baths. So fun. I am on this unit for one more week before orienting to the newborn ICU. Wish me luck!

I'M REALLY CONFUSED WHY THE DOG IS ALSO A BIRD.
Sweetie...its not real.
I'm so excited for you to get your puppy to obsess over!! It would be quite interesting to see how the cats react to the picture you posted. Would they run away from the front half and try to eat the back half? Huh. Very fun!
Bugs are icky. I'm so glad you've got the power sprayer with the power drugs to lure them to their powerful deaths!! I wish you a happy, centipede and cockroach free existence!!
And CONGRATULATIONS on starting your brand new career!!! So exciting!! So many adventures! So much stress and scariness and happiness and pure joy ahead of you! YIPEE!!!!
By the way - fun new blog list over on the side there!
Great photoshop job. The head really blends with the feathers on the bird.
"Whoever said you can't buy happiness forgot about puppies." !!
"I how the kitties would respond to a barking dog?!"
