Found your blog while searching for at way to contact UNMH NBICU with news about one of your "graduates". 21 years ago I haunted the halls of UNMH while my infant daughter was in NBICU for 21 days. She came in first with complications from meconium aspiration. After she was dismissed to another hospital in preparation to be released to the home, she suffered a blood clot resulting from IV's in the umbilicus and was rushed back to ALBQ. She could have lost her sight, could have been brain damaged, the high blood pressure from the clot caused her heart to enlarge, her lungs could have been permanently damaged, we expected her to lose a kidney. She suffered NO lasting complications. On May 16, 2009 she graduates with honors with a business degree.

All the drs and nurses who cared for my daughter are probably long gone from UNMH, but I wanted to let those of you who are there now know how very important your work is. The loving care of our child while she was in the care of your facility will never be forgotten.

Thanks, AH

There are a few nurses still working here that might remember your daughter (remember Gloria and Suzie?), what is your daughter's first name? We love to get updates on our graduates, I will post your comment in our break room for everyone to enjoy, thanks!
