I soon leave the calm quiet of the NICU for the loud chaos of the ER which is giving me a lot of anticipatory anxiety about what it is REALLY going to be like. I hope it is exciting, sometimes hilarious, sometimes intense, and overall satisfying. The things I have some anticipatory anxiety about are: smelliness, violence, being barfed on, being sneezed on directly by a smelly violent barfy alcoholic...that I suppose is pretty specific but from what I have heard not at all uncommon. oh boy.I have started my ER education with a basic arrythmia online module which I am trying to get through a little at a time during down time at work...its a tad bit dry. hence my blogging for procrastinative pleasure. Get ready for drug seekers, chest pain, homeless ETOH withdrawals, bloody noses, and so much more. It's great you never know what's going to happen.
Well, I'm not a nursing friend, but here's my attempt:
1. Ventricular rhythm
2. 2nd degree AV block (type II)
3. Sinus tach
4. Not so good-ness with the Vtach
I'm very excited for you and your new adventure. An adventure it will be, but we all know that you will still kick some ER butt. It's what you do!! (I'm not sure if you've heard this, but rumor is, you're kind of a big deal!!!!)
Can't wait to see you later this week! Hooray for Bellingham visits!
This shit is nearly impossible...Liz darling you and I are going to have a little sit down with this manual and get it down!
1. Accelerated Idioventricular Rhythm (AIVR)
2. Sinus Bradycardia with Sinus Pause followed by Junctional Escape Beat
3. Supraventricular tachy (SVT)
4. Torsades de pointes
What about Sudden Unexpected Death Syndrome?
What about right bundle branch blockage? Complete vs. Incomplete?
The ER is FUN! See you there sista!
